This is in the middle of traffic at times. I brought this to the mechanic but they don't seem to find what's wrong with it. I stopped by a local Chevy dealer and told the service desk folks the problems. It happens every single time I drive my Yukon! The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. How about a bulletin with such a common problem? The dealer replaced the spark plugs, but the failure recurred. The car has no power at all once it stopped. After several trips to the service shop and it still is coming on.
According to my dealer this is an issue the manufacture has know about for a while. I've been reading up on this issue and it seems pretty common, this is alarming that a recall has not been put into effect! The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the engine, waited, and then restarted the vehicle. You are doing what you are suppose to do by turning it off when the conditions won't require it and when you feel the conditions do need it by turning it on. Lithium grease for the pins. That would be hard to diagnose without actually hearing it or driving the Suburban, but it could be a number of things.
While operating the vehicle, the traction control warning indicator illuminated before the vehicle suddenly stalled. Issues happened mostly when car was on but mirrors would randomly move when car was not on, very creepy. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. I have a 2004 chevy suburban 4 wheel drive with stabilitrac. The distributor caps go bad on the inside where… the fuel filter should be under the car,about as far back as the drivers seat,,It's silver in color and about 4 inches in length,,driver side,,make sure to release pressure first before removing the filter,,you need to pull the fuel pump fuse,,,you can also remove gas cap,but better to remove the fuse. How do I fix this.
Needed replacement again in oct. I would like my vehicle fixed and returned to a safe condition. Have not had a problem again. What recourse do I have to insure the truck is safe? The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. My experience was that 2 dealers were useless.
Engine light is not even on. I must stop the vehicle and turn it off several times for it to reset before I can continue. The one on the dash that allow it to work in auto or manual? Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop or the dealer. The failure mileage was 185,000. I have read many of the same issues other owners have had. After researching it I found it was a problem with the wheel sensors.
Yes, that code is part of the Stabilitrak and system. Â¿ my dealer said the computer didn't show any issues, but as soon as I drove home it happened again. The vehicle was not repaired. This was a very serious safety concern as the vehicle would end up in the middle of the road with loss of power and cars behind me will almost re end my car.
This occurred as I was pulling into a parking lot and I almost hit another car. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who was unable to duplicate and diagnose the failure. I had an issue where my truck would loose power and not move from a dead stop, and my traction control light would come on. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0442. And the vehicle would not go over 20 mph on a level surface and barely 3 mph up a moderately steep hill. Gm did offer numerous customers replacement engines under 150k miles. Also the stabilizer system fails without notice and the dash instrument cluster gas gauge, temp gauge, voltage and oil pressure gauges works on and off. I was told it was the battery. There is a recall on this problem for previous years but not 2006, so the dealers are no help. They did a diagnostic test but they did not get an error message at all. This has happened to us twice in two days time. Then I sprayed it with anti corrosion spray and reassembled it.

Technician will need to measure fender wheel-opening heights, front and rear, to quantify vehicle lean. The consumer stated he experienced chronic problems with speedometer, starting problems, wheel hub and traction control sensor. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
